I'm in the Newspaper
My picture was recently in the newspaper, along with the President of the Ipswich Art Society and Exhibition organiser, in an article promoting the Ipswich Art Society Members Exhibition. You can see the article here http://www.ipswichadvertiser.com.au/story/2011/09/22/courthouse-gallery/
Paintings in Ipswich Art Society Show
The Ipswich Art Society is currently having a show of members work at the Old Courthouse Gallery in Ipswich. I put in these two paintings. The top one is called "Aussie Sunset" and is 60cm x 90cm. The bottom one, which I had reframed into a much nicer frame is called "Calm Lake".
The show runs until October 16th.

Giclee Canvas Reproductions
A friend of mine recently bought a fantastic new Epson wide format printer which can produce Giclee Reproductions of my art up to 44" wide and any length (not that I have done any paintings that huge yet, but you never know).
The printer works like a huge inkjet printer, squirting ink onto the canvas so that there is no visible dot pattern, and it sprays it over a fairly wide area at a time, so is quite speedy even in the highest resolution printing modes.
I've got three of my paintings available at this stage as Giclee Limited Edition canvas prints, and will be getting some more done shortly.
The Giclee Reproductions look fantastic. The colours and tones of them match the original painting so close, that it is really hard to pick which is the original and which is the reproduction.
I've just finished setting up a website to sell my reproductions and also have been able to include a large number of Giclee Reproductions by famous Australian artist and TV personality, Wayne Clements, who hosts the program "Art Studio" which is aired in Australia, and was host of "Class Art" which was aired internationally to 188 countries.
The Giclee prints on canvas look so much better that straight prints on paper and you have the advantage that you don't need to put them under glass, so this alleviates the glare problems of glass is you have the artwork opposite a window or a strong light source.
The new inks that the Epson 9900 printer uses are guaranteed against fading for somewhere between 75 and 100 years (depending which site is giving the info) but in either case that will no doubht outlast our lifetime.
The website I've put my Giclee Reproductions on is called Giclee Artists Prints which is pretty self explanatory.

Misty Mountains. Oil painting
This artwork entitled Misty Mountains is 12” x 16”. I used plenty of Titanium White with some Cadmium red to get the lovely pink hughes in the sky. I wanted to paint a nice very soft peaceful scene, hence the colour selection used. I was trying to capture the feeling of tranquility of being in the middle of the bush, in amoung the trees, with birds flying overhead.

"Snow Gums" painting
There is nothing more stunning than the "Snow Gums". This painting is 16" x 20". There are many different sorts of gum trees throughout Australia, but I can't help but be amazed how the Snow Gums survive the bitter cold. This scene shows an old shack on the snow fields. Don't see many of these snow gums in Queensland, but down south in Victoria where I come from you will find them.
Windmill at Sunset
I painted this oil painting the other night. It is 16" x 20" in size. I have travelled extensively throughout the Queensland countryside, and one of the common sites I have seen are the old windmills. This artwork captures an old windmill and watertank. I set the scene at sunset to show the intense colours that I could soloette the windmill and tank against. I added in the birds flying in the sky, as you so often see them in the air near sunset. It is painted on stretched canvas.
Where to see my artworks
Currently I have works on display at the Alpha 31 Art Gallery at Maryborough Qld, Lyrebird Gallery at Beaudesert Qld, Funkadelka at Plainland Qld, Luigi's Coffee Shop at Yellarbon Qld, Zacs Carvery at Carole Park, Qld, Cafe Kiks at Fervale Qld and the gift shop at Plants by Jac at Bellbird Park Qld.
This year I plan to seek representation at a lot more galleries around Queensland, and will again be putting my works in a lot of the upcoming art shows including Quota Art Show Jimboomba, Aspects Art Show Goondiwindi, Ipswich Art Show, Rotary Spectacular in Brisbane, and many more.
If you would like more details of prices of artwork and delivery costs please shoot me an email. Most of my works are done on stretched canvas, so for international delivery larger works can be detached, rolled up and sent in postal tubes. Smaller works will be bubble wrapped. I am based in Australia.

"Sunset on the Farm" oil painting
This oil painting is 12" x 16" in size. I was trying to capture one of the brilliant Australian sunsets out in the country. I was trying to capture the peaceful feeling that comes from being out in the quiet of the countryside. There are many old farms like this scattered all through the vast Australian landscape.
Oil Painting entitled "Camping"
This oil painting is 60cm x 90cm in size. I painted it last week. I was trying to capture the splendour of the Australian countryside with the light glowing over the mountains. It was a scene I created from my head. Before I started I had pictured the mountains and a waterfall flowing from the hills into a stunning lake. As the picture developed I was pleased with how serene and tranquil it was, and decided it would be a lovely place for camping, hence I added in the tent. I added an Australian gum tree in the middle ground, but not too close to the tent (only because of the old saying 'never pitch your tent under a gum tree in case a branch falls'). I painted the sky in white and then added in some yellow ochre and a blue-violet that I mixed using Ultramarine blue and red.
